The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Controller and/or Accounting Manager in carrying out responsibilities of the Accounting department and preparing timely and accurate internal and external financial statements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform monthly close including reconciliations, analysis, adjustments, and financial statement preparation
Perform cost and production analysis
Perform inventory reconciliations and lead physical inventory counts when required
Oversee system (MRP) health, workorder processing/posting, Bill of Material updates, Routing reviews and Inventory reconciliations
Assist with expense control by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce company policy via systems that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company
Provide strategic financial input and leadership when necessary
Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement and professional growth opportunities
All other tasks and job duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Finance strongly preferred.
Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management
Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and procedures of TGS Management
Preferred Skills & Experience
2+ years in progressively responsible financial roles
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage tasks in conjunction with all levels of the organization
Strong problem solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
Results oriented; high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
PC proficiency and strong working knowledge of MS Office Products, specifically Excel
Experience within a manufacturing company preferred
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Ability to task-prioritize with shifting workload in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time
