The Regulatory Affairs Coordinator is primarily responsible for obtaining and managing license verification requests across multiple jurisdictions for Simplifya’s license-status database. The Coordinator establishes and builds relationships with appropriate government contacts and manages license data results on a rolling basis. The Coordinator also provides support to the Regulatory Affairs team through various organizational and miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Effective communication skills. You must be able to both politely and accurately articulate requests to government employees for documentation through e-mail, letters, and phone conversations in a manner that fosters ongoing relationships.
Superb organizational and critical-thinking skills. You must be able to document license request results in an efficient, logical manner and provide the Regulatory Affairs Manager with concise and informative updates.
Strong writing and grammar skills. You must be able to correspond professionally with individuals outside of the company as an ambassador of Simplifya’s brand and message.
Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. You will be expected to balance numerous pending tasks at the same time without letting any fall through the cracks.
Strong independent work ethic. You must be able to take individual initiative when solutions are unclear and maintain personal accountability for project accomplishment.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field.
Work efficiently and cooperatively in an environment of multiple projects and priorities.
Approach challenges with an innovative and positive attitude.
Work well both independently and collaboratively.
Research and analyze cannabis-business license information at state, county, and local levels in over ten states and document results.
Draft spreadsheets, status updates, and reports detailing existing business licenses and expiration dates for Simplifya app content.
Contact government agencies to update and refresh existing licensee information.
Provide targeted input to the Development and Regulatory Affairs team on ways to improve license data acquisition and maintenance.
Serve as a resource for sales and customer support as needed, which may include web conferencing and/or occasional travel.
Assist Regulatory Affairs Manager and team members with administrative and organizational tasks, including internal content updates and file maintenance.
Help to develop Simplifya’s reputation as regulatory experts via industry events, blog posts and media resources, participation in regulatory committees, and in other opportunities as they are identified.
Familiarity with G Suite and/or spreadsheet formulas.
Experience with data analysis.
Experience in cannabis regulations and/or any of the following types of companies or industries would be helpful: software, startup, cannabis, regulatory, compliance, audit, law, consulting.
