Job description

The Cultivation Technician II is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the company’s cultivation operation from seedling to harvest.

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

Performs plant and crop maintenance using standard procedures including but not limited to, cloning, transplanting, feeding, trimming, irrigation, and pest management in adherence to cannabis laws and regulations. Maintain a clean greenhouse environment to include removing and disposing of all cannabis waste, cleaning and sanitizing all rooms and tools, and adherence to cultivation master sanitation schedule.

Monitors and assists other Cultivation Technicians as part of a high performance team to accomplish cultivation goals set forth by management.

Assists with collection of data for reporting on plant health metrics as well as ongoing research and development for the greenhouse.

Under the direction of the Cultivation Manager will maintain various systems (including NAV) for tag/batch creation, inventory reconciliation and Hortimax Greenhouse system control and/or Argus system control.

Mentors and trains Cultivation Technician I’s on standard processes and operating procedures.

Performs all tasks set by management in a safe and efficient manner.

Knows, understands and applies fundamental principles of cultivation SOP and sanitation in the field in a practical manner. Manages daily tasks to SOPs.

Oversee day to day assignments of Cultivation Technician I’s with direction from the Cultivation Manager. . Most tasks and activities are planned and assigned by others.

Other duties as assigned by management.


High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years of experience in a related field.

Private Pesticide Applicators License preferred and will be required to be obtained within 4 months of position start date to maintain this position. Each state may have requirements that must have been met before being eligible to take the state test.

Proven ability in Cult Technician I responsibilities, plus proficiency in cultivation tasks: cloning, harvesting, transplanting, pruning, trellising, sanitizing, waste disposal, pest scouting, IPM application, fertilizer barrel mixing, plant health analytics, and proper hydration of production zones.

Must be 21 years old.

Exceptional attention to detail; commitment to product quality, initiative to learn new skills, maintain satisfactory attendance, successful conflict resolution skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams, demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment. Understands the fundamental principles of cultivation, integrated pest management, and greenhouse sanitation and applies them in a practical manner.

Demonstrated competency in computer software skills including ERP systems and Google office.

Knowledge and understanding of cannabis regulations for the local market.

Good Agricultural Practices certification preferred.

Working conditions:

Uneven surfaces, stand/sit long periods of time, bending/stopping, hard surfaces, ambient temperature environment. Requires weekend/holidays altering rotation.

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift 50 pounds.
