Job description

Palomar Works is located in Oceanside. Our office is looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling accounts payable and receivable accounts, invoicing clients, ensuring prompt payment of invoices, entering sales orders, and developing and maintaining a comprehensive financial filing system for our company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company’s general ledger system.

Support supervisory and executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.

Enter and balance accounts receivable and payable on a daily basis.

Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.

Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.

Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.

Maintain an orderly financial filing system.

Reconcile department accounts monthly and prepare reports to present to management.

Assist in ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

Assist with other accounting projects in the office.

Requirements:

Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk.

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting procedures and principles.

Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and/or other large automated accounting systems is a plus.

Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.

Exceptional organization and time management skills.

Ability to meet all assigned deadlines.

Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.

High level of accuracy and efficiency.

Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
